The new API has improved functionality, added features, and is built upon a faster, more scalable infrastructure.

What’s new?

PLUS++

1. New element: bidded

These API now include a new child element of product called bidded. This element is a true or false value that indicates whether the product is monetized or not. If the value is false, you will not generate earnings on leads or clicks to this product. Use discretion on whether or not to include the non-monetized listings on your site. We include these extra products because some Publishers like to have more extensive product offerings even if they won’t generate earnings on these clicks. The element was not in previous versions of the API because Shopzilla excluded offers that were not monetized for Publishers.

2. Show Attributes corrected

Show a list of applicable product attributes by which you could further refine your request. Use |attFilter|:Filter results based on attributes.

3.Taxonomy added

The Taxonomy Resource allows your application to search and explore BizRate’s hierarchy of categories.

MINUS –

1.Removed all Merchant Reviews

2.Removed product Review

In addition, the use of the API comes with some important restrictions and limitations that you must abide by:

1. Merchant direct links must be used for comparison shopping displays only. Prices and respective merchant/store names must be listed with each product you display.

2. Each product displayed must have at least three merchant links provided. If there are less than three offers available for a product, you must display all offers. When there are more than three offers available, and you do not want to display all the offers, you should provide users with a “see all offers” link and either link that to a page on your site that will show all offers or link to the BizRate.com “Compare Stores & Prices” page for that product.

3. If you are caching data, you must refresh your cache at least 4 times per day to ensure that the offers are still live/available and that the pricing information has not changed.

4. You are required to place a “Powered by BizRate” link that lands on Bizrate dot com on each page where content from the API is displayed. To ensure that you are paid for any resultant merchant redirects from BizRate, you may use also this URL: | www.bizrate.com/index__af_assettype_id–4__af_creative_id–5__af_id–YOURPUBLISHERID__af_placement_id–1__rf–af1.html |

5. You may only use the API / content from the API on the website(s) with which you applied. If you would like to use it on other sites, you are required to contact the Shopzilla Publisher Team for approval first.

6. You agree not to make any more than 150,000 queries per day to the API.

7. Shopzilla will make all commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the availability of the API, but shall in no way be held liable in the event that monetization of your site is impacted by API downtime or other technical issues adversely impacting the functionality of the API.

8. All data and information available through the API, including API location, access information, and documentation is to be kept strictly confidential. Any breach of this agreement may result in the withholding of payment, termination from the program, and/or other penalties.
